Despite an offer from Foreigner, the band’s services were not needed at this particular wedding.
Instead, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Tim McGraw and Avril Lavigne were just some of the musical artists who played earlier this month at the wedding of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and superstar singer Taylor Swift.
That sounds like a concert for the ages, and it was only for the thousand or so people at the reception.
Former NFL lineman Ross Tucker was at the ceremony, and on his podcast recalled that his sister-in-law asked if Kelce and Swift sang. Tucker was talking with Jason Kelce about the wedding, which was held at Madison Square Garden in New York.
“Somebody,” Tucker recalled, “I think my sister-in-law, like a couple days afterward, said, ‘Is it true that Travis and Taylor sang?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ She said, ‘Is he good?’ I said, ‘Yeah, actually, he is good.’ And I remember you and I were talking about that night, and I think she said, ‘Are those guys just good at everything?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. They might be.’ .. If I didn’t know different, I would have thought that that’s what he does. He’s a good singer.”
Jason Kelce said: ”Yeah, Trav can sing. Traffic has always been able to carry a tune. Obviously, paled in comparison to some of the other people singing that night. But he did OK.”
Travis Kelce has shown his musical chops in the past.
You may recall Kelce sang “Fight For Your Right” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” after Super Bowl LVIII. And Kelce won a karaoke contest at a charity golf event in 2024 after performing a White Snake classic.
But a duet with a 14-time Grammy Award winner who has fans around the globe is a different story. But Swift probably encouraged her hubby in performing a duet. And E! News reported that the newlyweds also had sung together at their rehearsal dinner.
Now the question is what song did they sing? Hopefully, we’ll get an answer.
