If you're wanting to help the feral and stray cats in your community through a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, then you'll be looking for animal traps that can safely catch the kitties. Multiple reviewers say these traps currently on sale at Tractor Supply Co are great for the job.

The CountyLine Catch-and-Release Live Animal Traps are now $30 for a 2-pack at Tractor Supply Co (they normally cost $40.)

These provide a safe way to "trap animals without causing harm." They're made of durable steel with a galvanized finish for rust resistance. They have a spring-loaded door with a sensitive trigger, so it's easy to catch and release wild animals ranging in size from raccoons and stray cats to chipmunks and squirrels.

The 2-pack includes two sizes of trap-and-release cages: one small size and one medium. The small size is 24x7x7 inches and the larger size is 32x12x10 inches.

One happy buyer writes: "I gave the larger trap to my son who works with a local feral cat organization and he says it has worked great to catch feral cats who need vet care. If I needed small animal live traps in the future I would definitely go back to this brand."

Buyers say these are great for safely trapping stray cats for trap-neuter-return programs. They suggest the medium size for kitties.

  • "The medium trap worked great for the feral cat & kittens we TNR."
  • "One of the big toms tried to claw and bite as I picked the trap up and place in truck bed. The shield below the handle prevented any contact. The animals were transported safely."
  • "I was able to capture two semi feral 3-4 month old kittens with the traps without any issues. I was worried they would be too light to set off the mechanism, but it worked both times."

Tractor Supply offers online delivery and free in-store pickup where available.
