Taylor Swift might have dropped The Life of a Showgirl less than a year ago, but we’re greedy and already craving new music. We want it. We need it. We’re clowning for it. Plus, Tay’s next album isn’t just ANY album. It’s her 13th album, aka TS13. And evidence suggests it might be incoming sooner than expected, so gather round.
The Concrete Evidence
Taylor was spotted at Electric Lady Studios in New York City in early June, arriving at 8 p.m. and was spotted leaving at 6 a.m. this morning. That’s an almost 12-hour recording session.
There’s also the fact that Tay’s docuseries, The End of an Era, wrapped up with "On October 3, 2025, Taylor released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, the biggest album of her career...to date."
Emphasis on TO DATE!
The Easter Eggs
For starters, there’s the fact that Tay’s docuseries featured a stadium sign that said A13. Might be random, but she previously teased her 12th studio album with a sign at the SAME stadium that said A12. Coincidence? Maybe, but knowing Taylor, probably not.
Then there’s the fact that Tay was spotted on a date night with Travis Kelce wearing a gold dress and opal earrings with 13 stones.
Again, could just be a nod to her love for the number 13, but let’s not forget that Taylor has Easter Egged albums via jewelry before. In fact, she wore ruby earrings with 12 stones several months before announcing the release of The Life of a Showgirl.
Most recently, fans are reading into some color changes on Spotify. In case you want to spiral:
The Sources
Back in April, a source let it slip to Us Weekly that Taylor “does have another record in the works, but there’s no pressure to release it anytime soon. It’s still very much in the creative stages.”
The Significance of 13
As anyone with even a basic knowledge of Taylor Swift knows, 13 is her favorite number.
As she put it to MTV back in 2009 (via People), “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album Taylor Swift went gold in 13 weeks. My first #1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically, whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing.”
She’s referenced the number throughout her career in lyrics, music videos, and even her personal style. So this album is going to be arguably the most significant of her career—at least lore-wise!
