The Challenge has come in many forms over the years, and a major change is coming once again. With its 42nd (!!!) season, The Challenge is moving from MTV to Paramount+. The new season premieres on August 5 and will see 24 contestants competing for a share of the $500,000 prize. And there’s a big gameplay change happening, too: The contestants will be split into three teams and have to win as a team, rather than being separated into pairs or individuals.
Some things are staying the same, though. As always, a number of well known Challenge alums are returning, including Chris “CT” Tamburello and Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio. On the other side of things, some contestants are trying out the game for the first time and come from a very different sector of reality TV: Love Island USA. From flirting in a Villa in Fiji to battling it out in Thailand, this will be a very different experience for them, to say the least.
