Carly did what Carly does, she talked herself into a version of events that didn’t hurt as much. Of course he went straight to Danny. Of course a man who clawed his way out of a foreign hellhole would zero in on his son first, especially after asking Tracy for the one thing he wanted most: a few uninterrupted days with the kid, no audience, no crisis, no Port Charles noise. It’s a generous read. It might even be the correct one. But generous reads don’t stop you from checking your phone forty times waiting for a call that never comes, and they don’t explain why he couldn’t spare thirty seconds to send a single text before disappearing again.

Something happened to Jason Morgan in that cell. Here’s the theory worth sitting with: Jason Morgan didn’t merely survive captivity, he came out the other side recalibrating who gets access to him. Carly built her entire identity around being the one person who never lost him. If that’s no longer true, if he’s choosing distance on purpose, it isn’t a snub. It’s a severance.
Maybe he needs Danny first because Danny is uncomplicated in a way Carly never has been. Maybe loving Carly the way he always has requires a version of himself he doesn’t currently have the strength to be. Either way, Jason Morgan’s silence isn’t nothing. It has never once been nothing.
