But I think a really underrated, refreshing snack is cold fruit straight out of the fridge. Yeah, it sounds a little boring compared to colorful scoops of ice cream, but I mean it!

Summer marks the peak season for many fabulous fruits, including mangos, melons, and berries. Recently, a new type of watermelon has hit shelves, which I’ve yet to get my hands on.
Lucky for fellow fruit lovers and me, a special seasonal blueberry has returned to shelves. And you might be surprised to learn that it’s not blue.
Pink Cosmo Blueberries Are Back on Shelves for a Limited Time
Contrary to their name, not all blueberries are blue—some are pink. Pink Cosmo Blueberries, also called pink lemonade blueberries, are naturally pink-hued and are back in season and in stock for a limited time at multiple grocery stores. They are listed on Target’s website and have been spotted by shoppers at other stores, including Sprouts and Giant Eagle.
The pink blueberries (or pinkberries, as I like to call them) are small and come in light or dark purple-pink. They only show up in stores in the summer, since their harvest season falls in midsummer, meaning the berry season has just started.
Fans adore the specialty berries for their delightful color and taste, which is said to be quite sweet. One TikTok user said the Pink Cosmos taste “twice as sweet as normal blueberries” and “have a lemon profile,” noting that they liked this variant despite disliking standard blueberries.
Other social media users also shared their love in the comments, with one writing, “These are soo good. I ate a case in one day,” and another saying, “These taste like candy.” Most agreed that these pink blueberries were better than the blue ones.
However, the luxurious-looking color comes with a cost—literally. This blueberry variant tends to be expensive. At my local Target, regular blueberries cost $0.36 per ounce, while the Pink Cosmos cost $1.59 per ounce.
My Review of the Pink Cosmo Blueberries
I’ll begin by saying I think regular blueberries are fine. I don’t reach for them first, but I won’t turn them down if they’re around.
The first thing I noticed about the Pink Cosmos is that they’re pretty crisp, consistently so. The struggle with regular blueberries is that you often get squishy, gross, flavorless ones. That wasn’t the case with the pink variety—they were crunchy across the board.
As for the flavor, I wasn’t sure that the Pink Cosmos tasted any different from regular blueberries. But when I whipped out some classic blue ones for comparison, I could tell the difference. Both colors are bright and slightly tart, but the pink blueberries were certainly sweeter.
Do I think they taste like pink lemonade? No—I didn’t get any citrusy flavor, though many taste testers say they do. To be fair, we’re not quite in peak season, so the ripeness of my pack is debatable.
My final verdict? Pink Cosmo Blueberries are good! They also look adorable. But given the price, they aren’t special enough for everyday snacking. They’re better suited as an occasional, seasonal treat or a party snack—pink blueberries on fruit skewers or on a festive fruit platter would look amazing.
