Tangled is getting dangerous.
Disney's remakes are the talk of Hollywood, and while some have exceeded expectations, others have certainly felt lackluster. The most recent comes from Moana's live-action remake, which is currently failing at the box office and has been ripped apart online by critics and audiences alike. However, there is still hope that Disney can make magic, and the upcoming Tangled remake could prove the critics wrong.
A new video from the set of Disney's live-action remake of Tangled shows Milo Manheim, who will be portraying Flynn Rider, preparing for a stunt. It appears that this stunt will be the iconic action sequence shown at the beginning of the original movie from 2010, where Flynn breaks into Corona Castle and steals the missing princess's crown. Filming is currently taking place in Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante, with production expected to wrap in August.

Manheim is known for the Zombies franchise on Disney and will be starring in the upcoming Tangled movie opposite Teagan Croft, who is portraying Rapunzel. The two actors will be joined by Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, and Diego Luna in an undisclosed role made specifically for the remake.
While there is no official release date for Tangled, it has been reported that the new Disney movie will arrive sometime in 2028. A lot of set photos have surfaced while filming is underway with a first look at both Manheim and Croft as the iconic Disney duo on set in what appears to be the Kingdom of Corona, however a notable difference from the original movie is the new colorway scheme which went from a purple and gold to a blue and gold.
Maximus, the beloved palace horse, will also be returning, as the production was seen tending to live horses as well as using a mechanical puppet, which appears to be how they will maneuver around the live-action barriers for the upcoming movie. Michael Gracey, known for The Greatest Showman, is directing the movie, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor on board to pen the screenplay.
Disney's original Tangled movie, released in 2010, is a major success for Disney and specifically Disney+ as the movie remains a top watch for the streaming service. Tangled grossed over $592 million globally and was the eighth highest-grossing film of the year of its release. It was a record-breaking movie and was the first fully computer-generated animated fairy-tale musical, paving the way for future Disney features.
