SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) — Next week, South Sioux City Police will be keeping a diligent eye on drivers who have a need for speed.
With the help of a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, police in South Sioux City will join a statewide campaign to reduce speed-related crashes, injuries, and fatalities.

From July 27 to August 9, all traffic stops, citations, and warnings will be documented and reported to Highway Safety.
The consequences of speeding have been significant in Nebraska. Over the past two years, 117 traffic fatalities in Nebraska were speed-related, accounting for nearly one-quarter of all traffic fatalities statewide.
