FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — An investigation is underway after “Godzilla vs. Kong” actress Kaylee Hottle was killed in a crash in Frederick County, Md. early Tuesday morning.
Minutes before 3 a.m. on July 21, Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies and medics responded to the 11400 block of Windsor Road for a crash.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a 19-year-old Frederick man was driving a 1995 Honda Accord when the car swerved off the side of the road and crashed into a culvert.
The driver was taken to the hospital, and one of the passengers refused treatment.
The second passenger, Hottle, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Hottle was known for her role in “Godzilla vs. Kong.” She played the role of Gia, who was a child known for connecting with King Kong.
Hottle’s father, Joshua, posted a video on Facebook with the caption, “I am taking a flight that I never would like to take.”
Hottle’s mother took to Instagram to share the heart-wrenching news, while signing a message in ASL.
“Privilege to be your mom, Kaylee Hottle,” read the caption.
The crash remains under investigation; however, deputies believe that speed was a factor in the collision.
