One person is dead after an early morning house fire in San Jose, authorities said.
The fire, which occurred at a single family residence on the 1200 block of Sylvia Drive at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, also displaced three people and two dogs, whom the Red Cross is assisting.
A second person was also taken to the hospital, according to the San Jose Fire Department. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. The identity of the person killed in the fire was also not immediately available.
The fire did not travel to any surrounding homes, and the cause was under investigation, according to SJFD. Firefighters put out the fire a little after 5 a.m.
