Being the longest resident dog at an animal shelter is boring, exhausting, and depressing all at once, but it only takes one selfless decision to change a shelter dog's life. At the Wanderer's Rest Humane Association in Canastota, New York, a senior Pit Bull named Gladis is that special dog waiting for her chance.
9-year-old Gladis has been in the shelter system since last year, and she was once adopted and returned due to her preference for a quieter home environment. Still, her friends at Wanderer's Rest know just what a loving, gentle dog she is, and they're determined to find the calm forever home where she can enjoy her golden years. She's struggling in her kennel all day, and she's so ready to be loved!
Even though Gladis gets lonely and worried when she's in her kennel all day, her friends know it's just because she desperately wants to be included and loved.
When she's out of her kennel, though, this happy dog doesn't need much to have an amazing day. Just a few snacks, a cuddly blanket, and some quality time with her favorite people are all it takes! This sweet senior Pit Bull is just a grandma at heart, so she's ready for all the cozy days to come with her forever family.

Her family just has to find her first! Despite reaching thousands of viewers, this video alone hasn't been enough to get her adopted. But here's the good news—she did find a foster home! She no longer has to cry in her kennel while watching everyone walk by, and she can rest comfortably until her person comes along.
