Sarah Michelle Gellar has a fresh new look for the season. On July 16, she gave fans a peek at her latest hair transformation.
Gellar showed off her shortened locks in an Instagram post, wearing her blonde tresses in waves that hit just below the clavicle. “Summer 💇♀️,” she wrote in the caption. Gellar, 49, previously rocked waist-length hair.
Earlier this year, the actress revealed that her hair was often a point of contention on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
“Would you like to know the secret to why my hair was always up? I like to wear my hair back in a ponytail—that’s always my thing,” she said in an interview with Elle. “They used to bribe me to take my hair out of a ponytail. It would be like, ‘We’ll let you wear this leather jacket if you wear your hair down.’”
“You’ll see me in more basic outfits with my hair tied back. A lot of tendrils are done for wigs. You’ll often see them on Nicole Kidman or any other actor who wears a lot of wigs. For me, tendrils were a way to hide my hair for my stunt doubles. But now wigs have evolved, so you don’t see tendrils as much in film or TV,” Gellar added.
Back in April, the Cruel Intentions star shared a rare video featuring her son Rocky, whom she shares with her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr.
In the clip, the 13-year-old speeds around a go-kart course dressed in a helmet and a blue boilersuit. Gellar shared that Rocky has aspirations of becoming a Formula One racer.
“Showing our kids that they can achieve their dreams, is one the most important jobs as a parent. Rocky’s dream is @f1 Watching him on the road (literally and figuratively) makes me truly ecstatic,” she wrote.
The Buffy alum also has a 16-year-old daughter named Charlotte with Prinze Jr., who she married in 2002.
