(NewsNation) — Ryan Reynolds will once again don his full-body red jumpsuit in a new “Deadpool” movie.
At Fanatic Fest 2026, Reynolds confirmed that there would be a new movie in the franchise, following the massive success of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
“There’s a few really deep cuts that I think are missing behind the movies. I think there’s a few deep cuts missing from some of the comics. There’s certainly some stuff that, you know, I love that Fabian Nicieza (co-creator of ‘Deadpool’) wrote that is incredible. Gerry Duggan, who was a friend, was an incredible comic writer,” Reynolds said onstage, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“There’s stuff upcoming. There’s eventually, you know, remotely another ‘Deadpool’ film. It’s going to be great,” he said.
A fourth “Deadpool” almost seemed like a foregone conclusion considering the success of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Released in 2024, the movie, which also starred Hugh Jackman as X-Men’s Wolverine, became the highest-grossing rated R movie of all time, earning over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.
The first three movies in the ‘Deadpool” franchise have collectively grossed nearly $3 billion globally.
