Deadpool officially returns with new X-Men release this month

Deadpool Officially Returns With New X-Men Release This Month

Mondo has released a new Deadpool figure based on his appearance in X-Men: The Animated Series launching at San Diego Comic-Con later this month.

Marvel has put out plenty of successful movies in the years since Avengers: Endgame, and one of the first that comes to mind is Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tom Holland’s third solo Spider-Man movie was one of Marvel’s first true multiverse blowouts, and the studio will look to continue its success in just a few weeks with the launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. No Way Home was one of only two movies in the Multiverse Saga to hit $1 billion at the global box office, the other being Deadpool & Wolverine, another multiversal film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Deadpool & Wolverine gave fans the on-screen team-up that so many people had been waiting for, and it did well enough to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history, even passing Joaquin Phoenix’s first Joker.

Ever since the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have naturally been asking about what comes next for the Merc with a Mouth, and while it’s still unclear if he’s going to have a role in Avengers: Doomsday, he is getting an official new release sooner than expected. Mondo announced this week that Deadpool is getting an exclusive San Diego Comic-Con figure based on his time in X-Men: The Animated Series. This is perfect timing, considering Deadpool just recently showed up in the sequel series, X-Men ‘97, via an impersonation by Morph. The 1/6 scale figure retails for $250, and it will go up for sale over the weekend of San Diego Comic-Con on July 23–26. Mondo is also dropping a gorgeous new poster inspired by Spider-Man #375, as well as a blind bag of Doctor Doom pins, which retail for $95 and $15, respectively.

What Is Deadpool’s MCU Future?

Marvel has yet to officially confirm if or when Deadpool will show up next in the MCU, but considering the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, it would be surprising if there weren’t larger plans for the character in the future. Despite not receiving chairs, most fans are expecting both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman to show up for the events of Avengers: Doomsday, be it for some brief comedic relief or to help bring the fight to Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. The first official trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is expected to be released next weekend during SDCC.

Check out Deadpool & Wolverine on Disney Plus, and watch the Merc with a Mouth in the latest episode of X-Men ‘97.
