Love Island USA’s Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe have reportedly split after a year of dating.

We have a new Love Island USA bombshell, and unfortunately, it’s not a sexy new single entering the villa. Or maybe it is? Season-seven fan favorites Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe — the couple that launched a thousand fan edits — have broken up after a year of dating, People reports. The pair, known to fans as Nicolandria, have “decided to part ways,” a source told the tabloid.

,

“The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection,” the source said. “They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”

,

Carthen and Vansteenberghe got together on last summer’s tumultuous season of Love Island USA after they were both kicked off the show and offered the chance to return if they coupled up. By that point, they had a legion of shippers who believed they were destined for each other. Once they returned to the villa (and Vansteenberghe’s original partner was removed from the show after videos resurfaced of her using a racial slur), the two decided to give it a go for real.

,

In the year since, the couple has been plagued by breakup rumors. (They were last seen together a month ago, when Carthen attended Vansteenberghe’s DJ set in L.A.) Carthen addressed the scrutiny with Cosmopolitan last month, suggesting that the people curious about the specifics of her relationship should “go do something with your life.”

,

“Why does it matter if me and Nic are together,” Carthen asked. “Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you? That part kind of creeps me out, because I’m never that invested in someone’s relationship, and I’m not living for the internet.”

,

Well, the internet certainly won’t be living for this breakup. At least now Carthen can put all of her attention on what she does best, which is looking incredible on red carpets. We’ll always have Casa Amor.
