It’s an amazing month to be a Paris fashion brand named after poop. A few days after Zendaya wore an angelic Matières Fécales dress to the New York premiere of The Odyssey, model Gabbriette married Matty Healy in a wedding gown designed by the French design house, whose name translates to exactly what you think it does.
,Over the weekend, Gabbriette and The 1975 front man tied the knot at Madonna’s old house in Los Angeles — a marital Mad Libs if there ever was one. Some blurry photos of the wedding gown surfaced on Saturday, but this week, Vogue shared a come-along-with-me-style video of Gabbriette’s bridal fitting, giving those of us who weren’t at the private ceremony a look at what poop couture actually looks like. The bride wore a bespoke white taffeta and tulle off-white gown featuring three-quarter-length sleeves, a hand-sculpted bustier, a Victorian-inspired tiered bustle, and multiple layers of distressed tulle. In the video, she cited Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula as her inspiration and, teary-eyed and twirling as much as her gargantuan train would allow, said she felt “like a princess.” The dress also marks Matières Fécales’s bridal debut.

It’s the second major headline in a week for designers Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, who are known for their exquisite craftsmanship and dark, twisty approach to eveningwear. At the New York premiere of The Odyssey on July 15, Zendaya arrived in character as Greek goddess Athena in a sculpted white gown with floor-length feathered wings protruding from her back. The dress originally walked in the brand’s fall 2025 Paris Fashion Week show but was put on ice for two years at the request of the indomitable Law Roach for this very moment.

This wasn’t Zendaya’s first time repping “Fecal Matter” en français either; in March, the actress wore a shredded peach chiffon dress from its spring 2026 collection to promote The Drama. Nor was it Matières Fécales’s first foray into celebrity dressing — Sarah Paulson wore the brand to the 2026 Met Gala; Demi Moore to the most recent Cannes Film Festival; and Lady Gaga on the 2026 Grammys red carpet. We may not be able to have prebagged grocery-store salads at the moment, but at least we still have high fashion.
