The flurry of headlines and social media speculation claiming Prince William and Meghan Markle both received Emmy nominations has now been clarified.
While the Duchess of Sussex earned an official Daytime Emmy nomination as an executive producer for “With Love, Meghan,” Prince William was not individually nominated.
Meanwhile, Meghan is also set to return to “MasterChef Australia” this week as a guest judge, revealing that her love for food and the country inspired her to join the show.

The Prince of Wales appeared in an episode of Eugene Levy’s Apple TV+ travel series, “The Reluctant Traveler,” titled “Living the Royal Life in the UK,” where he toured Windsor Castle with Levy and discussed royal life.

“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had,” William told Levy. “Life is sent to test us, as well. And being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”
The Reluctant Traveler received two Emmy nominations: Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program, which recognizes writers David Reilly and Christine Rose, and Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special, an award typically presented to the host and production team.
While William’s appearance generated considerable interest, he is not an Emmy nominee, as guest appearances in nonfiction or documentary programs do not receive individual Emmy nominations.
Meghan’s Emmy Nomination Is Different
By contrast, Meghan’s nomination is direct and official. Her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lifestyle Series.
Because the Duchess serves as a credited executive producer alongside her role as host, a victory in the category would make her an official Emmy winner.
“A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on With Love, Meghan on Netflix,” she wrote on social media after the announcement. “We are nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series!”
In short, William is not personally nominated, while Meghan is officially among the nominees ahead of the 78th Emmy Awards, which will air live on NBC on Sept. 14 from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live.

The confusion surrounding William’s supposed nomination quickly spread across social media, with many users mocking headlines they felt blurred the distinction between appearing in a nominated project and actually receiving a nomination.
“Willy ain’t nominated for SH-T. That would be like saying Harry & Meghan were nominated when their 2021 Oprah interview received a Primetime Emmy nomination,” one X user wrote. “NICE TRY, Kensington Palace PR Team.”

Meghan Markle Returns To ‘MasterChef Australia’ As Guest Judge
Away from the Emmy conversation, Meghan is set to appear as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia this week.
During the episode, she’s expected to challenge contestants to create a dish using a seasonal ingredient while sharing the personal story behind their choice.
Endemol Shine Australia and Channel 10 announced her appearance on Instagram ahead of the episode, which airs on Sunday, July 26.
“The countdown is on! Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, joins the #MasterChefAU kitchen as a guest judge, bringing her love of food, entertaining and seasonal produce to one of the competition’s most memorable challenges,” the caption read.
Meghan Markle Reveals Why She Said Yes To The Show
Confirming her appearance, Meghan explained why accepting the invitation to return to “MasterChef Australia” was an easy decision.
“What attracted me to the ‘MasterChef Australia’ kitchen? Two things: my love of food and my love of Australia,” she said, per Paramount ANZ. “It was an easy yes. It’s such a great show. I’m just really honoured that I was asked to be here with you and to be able to judge some of these meals.”
Contestants will work with seasonal ingredients including carrots, Jerusalem artichokes, Brussels sprouts, celeriac, local Australian honey, macadamia nuts, quince, lemons, apples, mandarins, and strawberries.
“These are all things that, for me, feel really nostalgic,” Meghan explained.
She added, “I’d love it if there’s a connection that you can find when, as you’re cooking something, what is the story behind it?… What is something from your family or from a memory… something sentimental that we can also taste as we taste your dish.”
