Prince William's "decoy" girlfriend finally got her own happily ever after years after facilitating William's with Kate Middleton.
Before William and Kate married, they were just young college students getting to know each other at the University of St. Andrews. Their love story wouldn't have been possible without the help of William's "decoy" girlfriend Bryony Daniels, who recently enjoyed her own royal wedding.
During their time in college in the early 2000s, William was linked with Daniels to keep media attention away from his real relationship with Kate. An April 2003 article in The Sydney Morning Herald revealed that William was photographed with Daniels, a fellow student who modeled for a students' fashion show along with Kate to drum up interest. A senior aide told the outlet, "She is not his girlfriend, just someone he knows."
Another royal aide shared that William was reportedly upset that he couldn't live a normal college life without the paparazzi hounding him. "It's very disappointing. He is very conscious of it all," they told the outlet. "If it continues, what is he supposed to do. Stay in his digs? Send someone else to Tesco? Not eat? We do not want his time at St Andrews to be ruined. And this is only creating a market for paparazzi pictures, which is what we have been trying to avoid all the time."
Kate and William ended up getting married in 2011 and Daniels attended their wedding. Now it's her turn to tie the knot. She married Adair Williams, the nephew of the Duke of Sutherland, in the Scottish Highlands in July.

"One glorious week of being yours, and you mine," Daniels posted on Instagram, sharing pictures of the nuptials including one of the bride and groom on horseback in their wedding clothes. "Suitably blessed by the ever present Highland summertime rain. Down Strath and up Monuments by hoof, foot, tank all in one day – Get away vehicle = the most handsome of landrovers 🤍💍🌧️🏴✨"
