Prince Harry‘s recent podcast appearance has the public seeing him in a whole new light.
According to brand and culture expert Nick Ede, the Duke of Sussex’s episode of the “Joe Marler Will See You Now” podcast was a success in how the world views him.
Harry appeared ‘much more approachable’ on the podcast
Because Harry is a member of the royal family, the Spare author doesn’t often get to show his more laid-back side.
“Harry’s humor, whether joking about being ‘sunset auburn’, introducing himself simply as ‘H’, or making light-hearted comments about someone’s hands, makes him feel much more approachable,” the specialist told the Daily Express.
“The podcast hosts have helped to humanize him, which is truly refreshing,” Ede noted.
Harry ‘needed’ this podcast opportunity
Ede believes the opportunity for Harry to open up in a relaxed setting is exactly what the public should see.
“This is exactly the sort of appearance Prince Harry needed. He has so often been seen through the lens of legal battles, family tensions and serious interviews,” he pointed out.
“But here we saw a far more natural, relaxed and genuinely funny side of him,” the commentator remarked.
Harry ‘reminded people’ why the public loved him
The 41-year-old hasn’t always had to prove how fun-loving and charming he is.
“It reminded people of the Prince Harry many connected with years ago,” Ede emphasized.
“Someone warm, self-deprecating and able to laugh at himself, which is what Meghan [Markle] saw in him too,” he added.
Harry says who he’d trade places with
During the appearance, the host Joe Marler asked Harry if he’d trade places with other Harrys such as Harry Styles, Harry Kane or Harry Potter.
“Kane, on a winning day… You don’t want to be Kane on a losing day, do you?” the father of two said of the Team England soccer captain.
Harry also noted how he thought the World Cup trophy was “coming home” this year.
