POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 32-year-old Davenport man was taken into custody Monday evening after deputies located him at his home on an active arrest warrant for violating his probation.
A deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on South Boulevard around 7:35 p.m. on July 20 to serve the warrant on Jonathan Michael Lang.
Records show Lang was sentenced on July 9 to 363 days of probation following a December 2025 arrest for driving under the influence. A warrant for his arrest was issued four days prior to his encounter with the deputy, after he failed to report to his probation officer on July 16 as required by his sentence.
Upon contact at his front door, Lang acknowledged the outstanding warrant to the responding deputy. According to law enforcement, Lang stated that he knew about the warrant and planned to turn himself in, but wanted to wait until after his birthday, which fell on July 20.
Deputies arrested Lang at the scene and transported him to the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center without further incident.
