Edgerrin Cooper is one of the most important players along the Packers‘ front seven, and arguably one of the most gifted players across Green Bay’s roster.
Cooper is widely viewed as a rising star, and his potential could be unlocked by veteran linebacker Zaire Franklin’s arrival.
Over at PackersWire, analyst Zach Kruse put together one thought on every Packers defensive player, while raising the ceiling significantly on Cooper’s immediate upside.
“A rising star at linebacker who could end up in the Pro Bowl or on an All-Pro team,” Kruse writes of Cooper. “If everything goes right in 2026. Fast and tough, with playmaking instincts. Didn’t create as many negative plays in 2025. Getting them most out of No. 56 should be a priority for Jonathan Gannon.”
Cooper garnered All-Pro votes as a rookie, and last season he posted 64 tackles with half a sack. If Franklin’s ability to read, react, diagnose, and attack the football allows Cooper to freelance and let his athleticism shine, there’s a chance that Cooper will break through and reach his All-Pro potential in 2026.
