The Milwaukee Brewers continue to feed on what red-hot Joey Ortiz has been bringing to the table. On Wednesday, the third baseman added to his incredible stretch, as he went 3-for-3 and scored two runs while getting two RBIs and a walk in a 4-3 victory in the series finale over the New York Mets at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Ortiz’s triple in the second inning drove in two runs and put Milwaukee ahead for good for the rest of the contest. Before the inning ended, he scored a run off a Christian Yelich single. Then in the sixth frame, Ortiz doubled and later scored after another Yelich hit.
It has been quite a ride of late for the 28-year-old Ortiz, who has clearly found his rhythm, and that is surely not lost on Brewers manager Pat Murphy.

Just like everyone else in Brewers nation, Murphy is loving what he’s seeing in Ortiz.
“He’s just in a good, free space, you know what I mean?” the two-time National League Manager of the Year Award winner said after the game about Ortiz, via Jack Stern of Brewer Fanatic.
He’s just like, ‘Hey, whatever they got, whatever they’re going to deal me, whatever cards, I’m good. Let’s just go play and have fun.’ I’m just really happy for the person.”
Ortiz is batting .239/.310/.352 so far in the 2026 MLB season, but over his last 11 games, he’s slashed .324/.410/.647 with two home runs, six RBIs, six walks and three stolen bases.
Ortiz will look to keep it going in the next series, with Milwaukee scheduled for a three-game home series against the Colorado Rockies that begins Friday.
