However, just weeks following their royal reconciliation, their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey has come back into the spotlight.
This follows the billionaire media mogul and host, 72, looking back on her most significant career achievements in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

The former daytime television presenter discussed several of her most memorable on-air experiences, including the iconic 2004 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, during which she gave away 276 automobiles valued at more than $7 million. Another professional milestone was her conversation with Meghan and Harry.
In 2021, Meghan and Harry appeared with the American broadcaster for their first comprehensive television interview after relinquishing their royal responsibilities and relocating to the United States.
Meghan discussed her experience within the Royal Family, which led Oprah to ask whether she was silent or silenced, to which the duchess quickly answered, "the latter."
Five years after the interview generated worldwide attention and criticism from devoted royalists, Oprah revisited that televised exchange.
The former television presenter playfully poked fun at herself as she recreated her pursed-lip expression from the segment while humorously emphasizing the word "silenced".
"I don't know where the hell that came from," the host confessed. Oprah then explained her reasoning behind asking the As Ever founder, "Were you silent or were you silenced?
"I wanted to be clear, because was she silenced? Were people telling her not to talk? That's why I said," Oprah confirmed.
"I said it for clarification because I didn't want to hear later, 'well, no, it wasn't that, it was really that I was silenced. They wouldn't let me talk. So it was all for clarification," the philanthropist explained. Oprah also revealed the explosive interview had been rescheduled three times and lasted more than three and a half hours.
The resurfaced 2021 interview threatens to reopen old wounds as Harry pursues reconciliation with the Royal Family.
Social media users have responded to the footage, with one writing: "Why bring this up again? I mean... really interesting timing!".
Another commented: "This interview didn't age well."
A third referenced the late Queen Elizabeth II's famous statement, "Recollections may vary," when addressing accusations of racism and mistreatment leveled by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their sit-down with Oprah.
However, many have slammed Oprah for "backpedaling" with her latest comments. Rewatching the sit-down in a video for Vanity Fair yesterday, Oprah seemingly defended how the conversation went, saying, "it was all for clarification".
Some X users felt Oprah looked "uncomfortable" watching the interview with Harry and Meghan back for Vanity Fair, while others said her comments about the "silent or silenced" question amounted to "meaningless word salad".
One person suggested: "She sounds so defensive, like she's gotten a lot of flak for her 'journalism' in that so-called interview."
A second added: "It's such a bad look when Oprah has to clear this up after so many years."
Another segment shown to the American broadcaster featured Harry's reasoning for speaking publicly.
He stated, "I need to do this for my family. This isn't a surprise to anybody. It's really sad that it's come to this. But I've got to do something for my own mental health, for my wife's, and for Archie's as well because I could see where this was heading."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed the UK in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California.
