Is the fairytale over?

Being a celebrity means having your relationship scrutinized. Being a royal too. And Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stand somewhere between celebrities and royals, so that means their relationship gets a lot of attention. This is particularly true considering how much of a big deal the two getting together was in the first place.

Now Rob Shuter is reporting that the two are basically living separate lives. It's important to note this has been reported multiple times before, with the two still seemingly doing well. It's the same news cycle that we've seen happen before with everyone from Prince William and Kate Middleton to Michelle and Barack Obama.

"They're living very separate lives now," one insider told Naughty But Nice. "It's gone beyond work schedules. They have different priorities, different routines, and they're spending much less time together than people realize."

Sources indicate that the fact that the two have been making separate appearances the past few months is a sign of a rift.

"When Harry is on his own, he seems like a different person," another source said. "He's more relaxed, more spontaneous, and much more like the prince people remember. Friends have noticed the change."

Harry and Meghan recently visited the UK together, alongside their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. During the trip, the two met with King Charles and Queen Camilla privately.

"Nobody knows what will happen next," another insider added. "But people around them aren't talking about whether they're spending time apart anymore. They're wondering whether this marriage can survive it."

This comes after RadarOnline reported Markle is "fuming" after the recent meeting with Charles reignited Harry's desire for a “half‑in, half‑out” role within the royal family. At the time of the meeting, some had indicated Markle also wanted the connection with the royals, but this new report seems to indicate she and Harry don't agree on the matter.

“Harry came away from that visit with a renewed sense of what he misses – seeing his father as a grandfather, watching his children explore a place that is part of their heritage. It has made him more determined to find a way back, at least part‑time," an insider said.

The insider added: “He believes there must be a workable arrangement where he can be present in the UK with proper security while continuing the life he has built in the United States. In his mind, it does not have to be all or nothing.”

However, “Meghan is far less convinced. From her perspective, they stepped away for very clear reasons, and any return – even a partial one – risks dragging them back into the same pressures and scrutiny they tried to escape.”

An insider said: “She respects Harry’s desire for his children to know their British side, but she is protective of the life they have built. The idea of being half‑in, half‑out raises old questions that were never really resolved the first time.”
