Here's a look at the New York Mets' lineup for Tuesday's game vs. the Milwaukee Brewers.

All of Freddy Peralta's positive emotions with his Milwaukee reunion were replaced with disappointment as his former team dealt him his ninth loss of the season on Monday night.

Peralta allowed seven earned runs in 5⅓ innings as the Mets fell flat in an 8-3 loss in the series opener.

Now, the Mets will look to avoid back-to-back losses in the second game of the series against the Brewers at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday night at American Family Field.

With a victory, the Mets can preserve a chance at a second straight series win for Wednesday's matchup. They sit a 42-59 entering Tuesday.

NY Mets, Brewers probable starting pitchers for Tuesday

The second game of the series provides a juicy pitching matchup as Brewers rookie Brandon Sproat will be making his first start against his former team after being traded in a package that sent Peralta back to the Mets.

The Mets will be leaning on their own rookie as Zac Thornton is due to make his fourth start. Despite truning in back-to-back quality starts, Thornton is still seeking his first career win. He is coming off seven scoreless innings with two hits and two walks allowed and five strikeouts against the Red Sox.

The left-hander is 0-1 with a 2.60 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 17⅓ innings to open his career.

While Sproat carries a 3-4 record, 5.16 ERA and 1.37 WHIP, the right-hander has been stronger since the calendar turned to June, with a 2-0 record, 3.55 ERA and 35 strikeouts across 33 innings in his last seven starts.
