Netflix fans have stressed their disappointment with Season 4 of the relationship reality show The Ultimatum ahead of the season finale and reunion.
There was no shortage of The Ultimatum fans who explained why they were disillusioned with the latest season of the Netflix series, which premiered Episodes 1-8 on July 15. Though more is to come, with the season finale and reunion premiering on the streaming platform on July 22, many viewers have already cast a harsh judgment of this cycle of The Ultimatum.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, a critic wrote, "Worst season of the ultimatum #netflix #theultimatum."

"This Season is sooo lame! Where are the adults? Why are 22 yr olds obsessing over getting married? They’re def not ready! All the other seasons were juicy, waited 2 years for this lame Season #theultimatum," a second ranted.

The Ultimatum is a show about long-term partners determining whether they're genuinely ready to move toward marriage by temporarily separating and dating other people, while their significant others do the same. Participating couples date each other before doing a 'trial' marriage with their original partner.
Viewers have been so "bored" by this season that some are begging for Netflix to revive the LGBTQ+ spin-off of The Ultimatum, which Netflix canceled after just two seasons.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love followed precisely the same format as the original series, but featured couples made up of women and non-binary individuals.
"Bring back queer ultimatum. It was much more entertaining and enjoyable," one viewer shared. "We have MORE THAN ENOUGH straight dating shows. It's gotten boring and the same this over and over. Queer people need representation!" another expressed.
"I miss the lesbian version, it was so much better," a fan divulged, to which another show fan agreed, "It's simply better because literally anyone can date anyone and that makes for better television."
The first season of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On premiered on Netflix on April 6, 2022, with the finale and reunion episodes following on April 13, 2022.
Additionally, The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 was filmed in Miami, Florida, between September and November 2021. The reunion special for the season was filmed later in January 2023
