Mexico called up 20 players to defend the Gold Medal won in 2023.

Mexico has announced the squad that will take part in the 2026 Central American and Caribbean games that will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Mexico was placed in Group A along with the host country, Venezuela and Guatemala. Mexico is the current gold medal holder after winning the competition in 2023 when it was held in San Salvador.

The call up list by coach Eduardo Arce was the following:

Goalkeepers: Emmanuel Ochoa (Cruz Azul), Cesar Camacho (Pachuca)

Defenders: Diego Ochoa (Necaxa), Rodrigo Pachuca (Puebla), Eder Lopez (FC Juarez), Carlo Soldati (Chivas), Jaziel Velazquez (Cruz Azul), Sebastian Cervantes (Dorados)

Midfielders: Juan Uribe (Chivas), Octavio Vasquez (Atlante), Gael Garcia (Chivas), Ariel Castro (Cruz Azul), Israel Tello (Necaxa), Brandon Tellez (Tapatio), Diego Valdez (Cruz Azul), Bernardo Parra (Queretaro), Marco Fava (Pachuca)

Forwards: Tahiel Jimenez (Santos Laguna), Mateo Levy (Cruz Azul), Joaquin Moxica (Atlante)

While Mexico will go to the tournament as one of the favorites, it doesn’t look as a particularly strong squad, with a couple of key players missing because of Liga MX action or a decision by the coaching staff. Mexico will open their group stage campaign by facing off against Venezuela on July 30th in Estadio Cibao. They will face off against the home team, the Dominican Republic, on Saturday August 1st. Their last group stage match will be against Guatemala on Monday, August 3rd. Those last two matches will be played in Estadio Condor.

He barely even hit a speed bump with the Graham Platner fiasco. In fact, it looks like Platner's going to be replaced with a (supposedly) non-rapey socialist once the Democrats fill his spot in the Maine...
