One year after the death of Ozzy Osbourne (1948-2025), daughter Kelly Osbourne (41) has remembered her father with a long, emotional letter. She shared her thoughts on Instagram. "One year ago, the world changed forever", she wrote at the beginning.
In her text, the 41-year-old describes how present the musician still is for her. She feels him in the silence, in the wind, and in every song that makes her pause, even in the scent of his cologne. "I know you're still with me", she addresses her father.
The grief weighs heavy
The hardest part for her is not that he's gone. The hardest part is that she can no longer touch him and can no longer hold his hand. "I always thought life was hard. But life without you was the hardest thing I've ever had to go through."
Elsewhere she calls her father her protector and best friend. Through "all the madness", he made every moment worthwhile. She now carries that love forward within her, in her son and in her mother. "It hurts every single day, but at the same time it's the greatest privilege of my life to have loved someone that much", Osbourne says.
She had already posted on Father's Day
The anniversary is not the first occasion on which Kelly Osbourne has publicly mourned her father. She had already addressed him on Father's Day with an Instagram post, sharing old photos with the Black Sabbath singer.
"Dad, I still look for you in everyday moments", she wrote at the time, "in the advice I need, in the joke I want to tell". The pain of missing him is the price of loving him. She would rather pay it forever than never have been his child.
Ozzy Osbourne died in summer 2025
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. Prior to that, the singer had battled Parkinson's disease for years, a diagnosis he made public in 2020.
With his wife Sharon Osbourne (73), the musician had daughters Kelly and Aimee (42) as well as son Jack (40). From his marriage to Thelma Riley, to whom he was married from 1971 to 1982, he had three more children.
