Jo Whiley's bold trainers are the perfect finishing touch to her jeans and jumper outfit, but this easy styling hack is worth checking out too

While I'm still pretty loyal to my best white trainers, there is no denying that when it comes to trainer trends in 2026, colourful trainers are reigning supreme. Versatile, striking, and an easy way of adding personality to the simplest of outfit formulas, it is little wonder that bold sneakers are the talk of the town, and Jo Whiley's latest Instagram snap displays possibly one of my favourites for the season.

The now almost sold-out Nike Air Max Moto 2k, in royal blue and silver, epitomises 2026's spring/sumer shoe trend, and while they're very noticeable, the combination of silver, black and royal blue makes them surprisingly easy to style too. Thanks to the neutrality of the colour palette, these shoes, as Jo Whiley demonstrates, are easy to pair with jeans. But they'd also make a standout partner to the best summer dresses too.

Relatively low-profile, as they leave a good amount of ankle on show, you get a fashion-forward trainer that's packed with ergonomically sound and supportive tech too. Jo pairs hers with some light wash, rolled-hemmed, barrel-leg jeans and a salmon pink sweatshirt from Whistles. But if you're after trainers to wear with dresses this summer. Try adding this pair to neutral-hued frocks, such as white, black or denim, to echo the existing palette.

Jo Whiley rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to fashion and I love her laidback but put together style. Her outfit is wearable, accessible, but still cool and it's all down to those subtle styling hacks and a well-put together colour palette that ensures her finished ensemble feels cohesive.

Standout trainers are having a major moment, and this trend will certainly continue as we head into autumn, so don't be afraid to embrace bright trainers. By opting for a more neutral palette, with metallic, blue and black, Jo ensures that despite their boldness, her trainers are actually very wearable and easy to style.

Adding a pop of pink, far enough away from her trainers, adds interest to her look without any clashes, and the addition of some sports socks shows how considered every element of Jo's look is, even when she's in casual attire. Proof that you don't need to dress fancily to make an impact, but considering even the smallest of elements, such as socks can be a style deal breaker.
