Lionel Messi will be returning to Inter Miami of the MLS. The squad has already signed one World Cup hero, bringing in Vozinha, who played for Cape Verde. Now, they set their sights on a Brazilian World Cup hero.
Casemiro, who recently played for Manchester United and has previously played for Real Madrid, will be joining Inter Miami for the rest of the MLS season, according to Lizzy Becherano of ESPN.
“What motivates me the most, and I think this is true for every player, is winning and continuing to grow. The project the Club presented to me, along with the effort everyone made to bring me here, means a lot to me,” Casemiro said in a statement. “I’m incredibly grateful, and I can’t wait to get started so I can repay that trust — not only during the 90 minutes on matchday, but every day in training as well. All I can say is thank you, and I’ll give everything I have to return the affection and confidence the Club has shown me.”

The 34-year-old from Brazil began his senior career with Sao Paulo in 2010 before moving to Real Madrid in 2013. He would stay with them until moving to Manchester United in 2022, except for 28 games when he was loaned to Porto. He has also been part of Brazil’s national team since 2011.
He is part of a large group of stars who used to play in Europe to be on Inter Miami, which includes Messi, Sergio Reguilon, and Luis Suarez. Inter Miami acquired the discovery rights to Casemiro from the LA Galaxy, but there is some speculation of tampering by the squad.
“While Inter Miami CF and the LA Galaxy have reached a settlement for the Discovery Priority to sign Casemiro, the terms will be released upon conclusion of the tampering investigation,” an MLS statement said.
Inter Miami currently sits second in the Eastern Conference and will face the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night.
