Their wedding and marriage attracted a lot of public attention, and their love story brought many interesting details.

Tennis stars Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter tied the knot on July 12.

Their wedding and marriage attracted a lot of public attention, and their love story brought many interesting details.

The couple organized two separate celebrations to balance their professional careers and family needs. The first, intimate ceremony was held at a historic church in Leicestershire, near where Katie grew up. Only eight close guests were present.

The date was chosen at the last minute, immediately after they were both knocked out of Wimbledon, and the main reason was so that Katie's grandfather, who suffers from dementia, could attend the ceremony. After the ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with their family at a local pub.

Italy

Just a few days later, the couple traveled to Italy where they organized a large multi-day celebration for extended family, friends and colleagues from the tennis world at the luxurious Borgo Santo Pietro estate in Tuscany.

The celebration included a dinner of local Tuscan ingredients, a pool party with pizza and ice cream, and lavish fashion looks that were featured by Vogue.

Katie's wedding dress and car problems

A special detail was Katie's wedding dress for the Tuscan ceremony. The British tennis player wore a custom lace dress by designer Caroline Castigliano, into which she herself sewed a piece of fabric from her late grandmother's wedding dress. For her first English church wedding, she wore a dress by the British brand Vivienne Westwood.

An unusual situation with the car also attracted attention. Alex de Minaur, a big fan of classic cars, bought a vintage 1956 Porsche Speedster specifically for the wedding to drive his wife away after the ceremony.

However, the car twice refused to start in front of all the guests, which, according to Alex, "stressed him out to the point of madness," although everyone thought he was joking.

Alex, who comes from Australia, and Katie, who is British, met through tennis circles. Their first unofficial meeting happened by chance when they were staying at the same hotel and went for coffee at 6 a.m. They officially confirmed their relationship on social media in March 2021, and got engaged in December 2024 in the Spanish city of Alicante.

Today, they are considered one of the most beloved couples in the tennis world, as they are known for giving each other immense support from the stands during tournaments around the world.

Their tennis careers

Alex de Minaur is currently enjoying the best period of his career, while Katie Boulter has had a season full of ups and downs. After Wimbledon, Alex officially moved up to 5th place in the ATP rankings, which is his best ranking of his career and the first time since 2009 that an Australian has entered the ATP top five.

Earlier this season, he won the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, and at Wimbledon he reached the round of 16, where he was knocked out in a close match by Italian Flavio Cobolli. His next big goal is the US Open in New York, where he is set to become the highest-ranked Australian player.

On the other hand, Katie is currently ranked No. 68 in the WTA rankings, but despite fluctuations in form, she managed to win her fourth WTA title of her career this season at the Ostrava tournament.

During the grass-court season at Queen's, she achieved one of the biggest victories of her life, shocking Elena Rybakina, but then suffered an early defeat at Wimbledon in the first round to young American Tyra Grant.

This early exit from the tournament freed up her schedule and allowed her to organize an intimate church wedding at the last minute. Both quickly returned to training after the celebration in Tuscany and are currently preparing for the North American summer hard-court tour, which culminates in late August.

It is to be expected that getting married will significantly change their lives, but both are aware that it was the right time to turn over a new leaf in their lives. In addition, the Australian and his partner are equally aware that things will be significantly different, but they are ready to change their lives and lifestyles and adapt to both family and professional obligations.

They have exciting tournaments ahead of them where they are expecting great results, so there is no doubt that we will be watching the progress of Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter with great attention.

Fans of this tennis couple hope their future will be filled with beautiful moments and that they will continue to enjoy the outstanding performances of de Minaur and Boulter on the court.
