Fans were jumping for joy when Nike finally announced in June that Caitlin Clark’s signature shoe will come out on Oct. 1. Supporters have long been anticipating the three-time All-Star’s first custom shoe with the sportswear giant since she signed an eight-year, $28 million deal with Nike in 2024.

Since the announcement, Clark has been wearing different colors of the Caitlin 1s. In a recent interview, the 24-year-old said that the all-white colorway, which she debuted on Wednesday against the Golden State Valkyries, is her favorite one because they were “pretty fire.”

She also loved the purple colorway, which she wore on Saturday as they defeated the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 108-88. “The purple aren’t bad,” she said.

Caitlin Clark shares Nike design process for her signature shoe

Clark shared some information about her signature shoe on Monday during practice. When asked about the design process that goes into each colorway, the Fever superstar admitted that she’s not involved with every single decision. However, she remains significantly engaged with the overall direction of her own kicks.

“Yeah, I mean, I’m not sitting there picking every color, especially when there’s going to be a lot of different colorways,” she said.

“So, about every color you can come up with, there’s probably going to be a shoe for it. But, I mean, we go back and forth, and obviously this has a little more of a gradient finish to it and doing different things like that. But I have a good amount of say.

“If I really don’t like the color, I’ll get rid of it. But at the same time, not everybody needs to like the same colors as me, and I want people to find a color, or whatever it is, that they feel comfortable in or that makes them them.

“So, there will be options for everybody.”

That being said, fans can safely assume that Clark will be wearing a variety of different colorways from now until the October release. This should give buyers enough time to decide which one they want. The die-hard supporters, however, might not be able to settle on just one.
