Federal law enforcement officers chased several people along Clara Barton Parkway during what's been called a "commercial vehicle enforcement operation" Wednesday morning, leading to a large police response and road closures in Montgomery County.
Witness video shows masked law enforcement officers running after people on the Parkway, as well an unmarked SUV with police lights as part of the chase. The video also shows a heavy law enforcement presence blocking part of the roadway. A WUSA9 photographer at the scene saw what appeared to be at least one person taken into custody.
U.S. Park Police said officers were conducting commercial vehicle enforcement alongside federal law enforcement partners when three occupants of a vehicle "bailed and fled on foot."
Park Police referred all additional questions to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Enforcement and Removal Operations, saying ERO was the arresting agency. ICE did not immediately respond to WUSA9's request for additional information.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service vehicles also responded to the scene. WUSA9 has asked the agency why firefighters and rescue personnel were called but has not yet received a response.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the vehicle stop or what charges, if any, the people taken into custody may face.
