In “a broken clock is right twice a day” news, we’re seeing a bizarre plot twist moment from ultra-MAGA pundit Laura Loomer in regards to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“I was wrong,” Loomer tweeted yesterday after a visit to Ukraine. The conservative activist often likened to a yassified Jigsaw came clean after seeing firsthand the devastation caused to Kyiv and other Ukranian city centers destroyed by Russian attacks. Considering Loomer’s former blind, borderline horny support of Tr*mp—and also considering the fact that FBI director Kash Patel just announced a mysterious trip to Moscow to hang with the new KGB—it’s a pretty strange twist.
But before anyone starts praising Loomer’s pivot, not so fast. Let’s not forget her horrific anti-gay, transphobic past, and her Islamophobic present.

From Kamala Harris’s husband Doug Emhoff to Pete Buttigieg to the late Lindsey Graham, Loomer has had homophobic things to say about just about everyone who isn’t D*n*ld Tr*mp. In 2024, she told Buttigieg he was not “a real father” to his adopted children because “gay men can’t get pregnant or give breast milk.” She also claimed Emhoff was gay because of his position as Second Husband. “Men aren’t supposed to be second to women,” she claimed last year.
She’s tweeted extensively about the need for “strict gender roles” and what she views as the problem of trans existence in America. Add to that her history of openly racist remarks about Kamala Harris, podcaster Hasan Piker, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and you’ve got yourself a pretty despicable human being.
So yes, she’s right on in the case of Ukraine needing relief and aid, but she remains ten toes down on her other anti-LGBTQ+ and proudly Islamophobic stances.
She also doesn’t appear to see the contradiction between supporting Ukraine and supporting her hero, D*n*ld Tr*mp… yet.
“We won’t have Tr*mp forever and the axis of evil is moving fast,” she wrote in a tweet Monday. Commenters, of course, were quick to point out that Tr*mp and Vladimir Putin are still on pretty friendly terms. Not to mention that mysterious Kash Patel trip marking the first time an FBI director has set foot in the Kremlin since Robert Mueller’s visit in 2013.
We know Patel has been on Tr*mp’s sh*t list for some time now, and it’s surprising he hasn’t been fired yet. If we know one thing about Loomer, it’s that she’s the rare presence who consistently has Tr*mp’s ear. Is Loomer’s sudden pivot a planned move orchestrated to sever ties with Russia and quieten the collusion conversation that still dogs Tr*mp all these years later? Is it a genuine, honest-to-God come to Jesus moment for Loomer? And what does a woman who repeatedly refers to ex-MAGA pundit Tucker Carlson as “Tucker Qatarlson” think about the president’s Qatari-gifted Air Force One scandal?
As of this moment, it’s all pretty unclear. But we can’t deny that it’s an interesting move from an otherwise sordidly predictable MAGA playbook.
