Over at PackersWire, Zach Kruse put together an in-depth breakdown of Green Bay’s defense, and underscored why this summer and the regular season still to come could be put-up or shut-up time for cornerback Keisean Nixon.
“Miscast as a true “No. 1″ corner,” Kruse writes of Nixon. “But underrated as a coverage player overall. Tough, quick and confident. Struggles against top competition and commits too many important penalties. Entering a contract year. Likely starter in 2026. Beyond? Likely playing elsewhere.”
Nixon will certaily need to prove himself this season, while holding off second-round rookie Brandon Cisse, and veteran free agent arrival Benjamin St.-Juste for snaps in new coordinator Jonathan Gannon’s defense.
With long-term security in Green Bay on the line, and the audition that comes with a contract year, this is shaping up to be a pivotal season for Nixon.
