The Atlanta Hawks continued a busy offseason by bringing in a former Brooklyn Nets draft pick. Jalen Wilson signed a two-way deal with the Hawks on Monday, according to Hoopshype’s Michael Scotto.
Wilson played three seasons with the Nets after they selected him No. 51 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. The former NCAA Champion and Big 12 Player of the Year appeared in 176 games during that span, averaging 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists on .401/.340/788 shooting splits in 20.2 minutes per night.
Wilson turned in the best three-point shooting season of his career last year, converting 35.5 percent of 8.8 attempts per 100 possessions. However, he struggled mightily as an interior scorer, shooting 44.4 percent on twos.

With a combined eight draft picks from the last two years — as well as young forwards Noah Clowney and Josh Minott — on their roster, the Nets renounced Wilson ahead of this year’s free agency.

Wilson will now join a crowded Atlanta wing group that features Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, Lugentz Dort, Aaron Wiggins and Corey Kispert.
Johnson broke out last season, earning an All-Star nod and third-team All-NBA selection. Meanwhile, Daniels has been a featured piece for Atlanta, and Kispert enjoyed a steady role after joining the team at the trade deadline.
The Hawks traded a handful of second-round picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder to acquire Wiggins and Dort this summer. Dort has plenty of playoff experience as a former All-Defense selection. Meanwhile, Wiggins showed impressive two-way flashes across his last two seasons, averaging 10.8 points and 3.5 rebounds on .464/.371/.789 shooting splits.
Given the Hawks’ depth, Wilson will have a difficult time cracking the rotation. However, he could provide a capable depth piece should the team battle injuries.
