In December 2025, CM Punk and AJ Lee’s dog Larry died, and the news broke their hearts, as shown in Netflix’s WWE: Unreal Season 3.
Netflix unveiled a clip from the new season, which premiered on the streaming service on July 21, 2026. Punk and Lee candidly discussed their dog’s death. They viewed Larry as their child, and he was with them for a decade.
“I like to say Larry went home to his home planet,” a tearful Punk said. “Larry was a very special little dude. He came with a bite on his record, so he was a little criminal. He was a perfect example of a little misfit that needed to find his people. No different from me. No different than AJ.”
Lee added, “We don’t have kids. We don’t have a lot of family. It was just us and Larry for a decade, so it was like losing a family member. Larry was this emotional support for me. And the past few years as he turned to a senior dog, I became his emotional support human, and he never left my side.”

Punk and Lee announced the death of their dog on Dec. 2, 2025. In WWE: Unreal Season 3, Lee recalled that his sickness “took him pretty fast.”
People grow close to their dogs, and Punk knows that Larry’s death may “not seem like a big deal,” but it was to him. He had the words “Larry’s dad” embroidered on his jacket at Survivor Series: WarGames and explained, “I love the little dude, so I just wanted him to be with me that day,” as he fought back tears.
Luckily, Punk and Lee got to spend quality time with Larry before he died. They took him on the road with them, as shown in WWE: Unreal Season 3.
