Following successful Gods Death & Reapers playtests and utilizing fan feedback, Wolcen Studio has officially released a roadmap as development shifts towards Early Access.
Since its announcement in 2025, Wolcen Studio has been hard at work refining its “Dark Fantasy ExtrAction RPG” Gods Death & Reapers, and today, the studio is ready to share the next steps the title will take while beelining towards early access. The Gods Death & Reapers team will utilize the community’s feedback from early alpha playtests as a valuable source to ensure the game quality is up to standards. The newly released roadmap detailing Wolcen Studio’s next plans can be seen below.
In CGMagazine’s preview for Gods Death & Reapers back in 2025, we called it “Diablo meets mythology meets extraction,” giving the title its flowers for developing a unique take on the Diablo-like ARPG genre. The second time CGMagazine went hands-on with Wolcen Studio’s latest development, it was vastly improved, with a focus on gameplay elements and an ever-evolving skill system. It proves Wolcen Studio means business with Gods Death & Reapers development, and the roadmap is just the next step forward.
Wolcen Studios announced, “A few of the community’s most-requested features are being added to future playtests! Such features include the Party System — a highly requested feature that includes duo and trio squads, plus 2v2 and 3v3 arenas — and Friend Management, which further bolsters Wolcen Studios’ dedication to working collaboratively with their community to create the best possible end product,” the studio says, showing the importance of listening to fans.
Alongside these additions, players will also get to experience the Enemy Player Tracking mechanic, explore a brand-new map, Asgard, and test the improved loot distribution with many other iterations in future playtests leading up to early access. Another fan-favourite request, the female character creator, is also being injected into the title before early access, allowing players to embody the exact extraction character they want to be.
While Wolcen Studios has not announced an official early access release date for Gods Death & Reapers, more news about future playtests will be coming soon. Fans can sign up for the next playtest through the Wolcen Studio Playtest Program to be first in line to preview the next playtest for Gods, Death & Reapers (and potentially another Wolcen Studio development soon to be announced).
