BILL SPENCER KNOWS BAD PRESS IS STILL PRESS
Eric Forrester thinks his on-camera meltdown just did serious damage to Logan. Bill Spencer knows better. When you own a magazine, bad press is still press, and Bill Spencer is not about to let a gift like this go to waste.
Bill Can’t Stop Smiling
Bill Spencer is having the best day of his life. Katie Logan and Hope Logan are still smarting from Eric’s meltdown, but Bill only sees opportunity, and he calls it a win before the day is even over. Katie wishes it had not come to this, and admits she feels for Eric even as she benefits from his unraveling. Bill does not share the sentiment for one second, and he is not about to waste a gift this good feeling guilty.
Will Spencer thinks Eric should be ashamed of himself, and insists no one talks about his mother that way. Katie is still appalled by what came out of Eric’s mouth on live television. Everyone at Logan gathers to watch Forrester’s livestream unfold in real time, wondering if the new couture line will be enough to steal back the spotlight. Bill is not worried, and by the time the interview goes sideways, he turns out to be exactly right.

His Own Media Machine
Bill does not care that the coverage is ugly. He only cares that it exists, and he reads the latest blog about the Forrester-Logan war and laughs out loud. That blog dragging Eric through the mud is not neutral coverage. It happens to be sponsored by Spencer, and Bill built the very machine doing the damage on purpose, the same way he built Logan itself.
The women in the room do not love watching this play out. Bill reminds them that Brooke and the rest of the Forresters made this personal first, and he will not let anyone trash his Katie, even while he is the one profiting from the mess. Bill Spencer tells Hope Logan exactly what his plan is: they are going to squash the dressmaker and milk Eric’s meltdown for everything it is worth. This is not damage control to Bill, this is content, plain and simple.
A Career Built on Outrage
Bill has spent his whole career learning that outrage sells better than approval ever could, and Eric handed him a viral moment for free. Across town, Deacon and Taylor are still replaying how strangely triggered Eric looked on camera, and Bill could have told them exactly why. A meltdown does not need to be fair to be useful, it only needs an audience, and Eric handed his rival a captive one. Bill has built entire headlines out of far less than this, and he knows it.
Eric thought his tantrum would bury Logan under bad press. Instead it hands Bill Spencer the one thing money cannot always buy: attention, and every share and outraged comment keeps Katie’s name trending. Bill built an empire out of turning scandal into circulation numbers, and watching Eric hand him one wrapped in a bow is, for Bill, basically a Tuesday. He has seen bigger disasters turn into bigger paydays before this one.
Scandal by Design
Eric wanted headlines about Forrester’s craftsmanship. What he got was headlines about his own outburst, and Bill Spencer could not have scripted it better himself. Ridge tries pulling Eric away from the camera before things get worse, but it does not matter, the moment already belongs to Bill, and no amount of damage control undoes that now.

Bill Wins By Default
By the end of the day, the war Eric thought he was winning belongs entirely to Bill. Katie may not enjoy every headline along the way, but she cannot argue with the result. In this Spencer-Forrester family feud, Bill is the one who always finds a way to make the headlines pay off for him, no matter how the story starts. He did not need to lift a finger, since Eric handed him the entire storyline for free. Was Eric’s meltdown a gift Bill will keep exploiting, or will Logan’s win backfire once Eric regroups?
