At the beginning of the offseason, Jacoby Brissett was holding out for a new contract from the Arizona Cardinals. After stepping in as the starter last season for 12 games and with the organization planning on giving him the starting role again in the 2026-27 campaign, Brissett felt he deserved better compensation. However, with training camp officially underway, perhaps the 10-year veteran no longer plans to hold out.
It’s said that Brissett reported to the first day of training camp on Wednesday, according to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Although the contract dispute does not appear to be over, the 33-year-old quarterback is in Arizona with his teammates.
“Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett reported to training camp today along with the rest of his teammates, sources tell me and [Ian Rapoport],” Garafolo posted on X. “Nothing new as of right now on his contract, but Brissett is in the building.”

It could just be a wait-and-see situation for Brissett and the Cardinals. Either way, he’s at training camp preparing for the 2026-27 campaign. Although Arizona was one of the worst teams last season, it was a career-best for Jacoby Brissett. He ended the year with career highs in passing yards (3,366) and touchdowns (23) while completing 64.9% of his pass attempts.
Expectations are low for the Cardinals next season, as many believe the club will be near the bottom of the rankings by Week 18. While there is some excitement brewing around Trey McBride, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jeremiyah Love, the quarterback situation and the lack of firepower on the defense are the biggest concerns.
