Ben & Jerry’s quietly released a new limited-time flavor, and I’ll be buying 6 pints

I need to make room in my freezer.

I need to make room in my freezer.

When I lived in France, I made it a mission to get a scoop of gelato every time I passed a shop. It’s important to set achievable goals! I wanted to compare the quality of every gelato shop, so in the name of science I always got the same flavor: raspberry.

I never really zeroed in on the “best” gelato, but I did enjoy my tradition of eating raspberry gelato on a near-daily basis. I know that strawberry gets a lot of hype, but in my opinion, raspberry is the superior berry flavor. When I heard Ben & Jerry’s was making a limited-edition flavor called Razz Up!, I was absolutely delighted.

What’s in the New Ben & Jerry’s Flavor?

The ingredients in Razz Up! read like my dream combination. It’s made with a black raspberry ice cream base and raspberry jam swirls, so it’s definitely a fruit-forward flavor. Each pint also has “crackling fudge chunks,” which sounds like something I need a spoonful of. Upon closer inspection, the chunks are actually tiny chocolate ampersands, a shoutout to the iconic “&” that appears in Ben & Jerry’s.

The perfect pint of Ben & Jerry’s contains both flavor ribbons and at least one add-in, so this flavor definitely checks all my boxes. I’m not the only excited person, because when the brand announced its flavor on Instagram, the comments went wild. To quote one fan: “Mr. Ben...Mr. Jerry...respectfully...this might be the best flavor you have made.”

Where To Find Razz Up!

Ben & Jerry’s fans know the clever name is a huge part of the ice cream experience, so I expect this flavor to take off, and I plan to stock up accordingly.

Razz Up! is already at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops across the country, so if you live near one, consider yourself very blessed. If you don’t live near a Scoop Shop, Razz Up! will roll out at grocery stores in mid-August. Keep checking the ice cream aisle of your store and prepare for black raspberry goodness.
