Baltimore to face Cincinnati in first White Bengal Stripe game

The Baltimore Ravens’ highly anticipated New Year’s Eve matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals will feature a new look at Paycor Stadium.

Cincinnati announced that it will wear its popular white helmets for the Dec. 31 game while introducing the first “White Bengal Stripe” experience in franchise history. The one-night theme will combine two of the Bengals’ established traditions, White Bengal and Stripe The Jungle, to create a coordinated black-and-white tiger-stripe pattern throughout the stadium.

The Ravens will visit Cincinnati for the Week 17 matchup at 8:15 p.m. ET on Thursday Night Football. The game will be streamed nationally on Prime Video and could carry significant implications in the AFC North standings.

“White Bengal Stripe calls on Who Dey Nation to take an active role in bringing this moment to life, creating a coordinated stadium-wide white and black tiger stripe effect that blends the intensity of the White Bengal with the visual impact of Stripe The Jungle,” the Bengals said in their announcement.

“This one-night only experience represents a unique chapter in Bengals tradition, giving fans the opportunity to be part of something truly special in Bengals history on one of the biggest nights of the year.”

Bengals combine two popular traditions

Cincinnati has leaned heavily into themed home games in recent seasons, using its uniform combinations and fan participation to create distinctive environments at Paycor Stadium.

The White Bengal look features Cincinnati’s white helmets with black tiger stripes, which became possible after the NFL relaxed its former one-helmet restriction. The Bengals have traditionally paired the helmets with white jerseys and white pants to complete the alternate look.

Stripe The Jungle asks fans to dress in the color assigned to their seating sections, creating a tiger-stripe effect around the stadium. Cincinnati first introduced the coordinated crowd pattern during a Sunday night game in 2023 against the Buffalo Bills.

The New Year’s Eve version will replace the traditional orange-and-black pattern with white and black. Fans will be asked to dress in accordance with their sections, allowing the stadium to resemble the pattern on Cincinnati’s alternate helmets.

The event will give the Bengals another way to create a hostile environment for one of their biggest rivals.

Ravens-Bengals rivalry returns to Cincinnati in prime time

The Ravens and Bengals have regularly produced some of the AFC North’s most intense games, particularly during nationally televised matchups.

Baltimore has hosted the rivalry’s prime-time meeting in each of the past four seasons. The 2026 schedule shifts the spotlight to Cincinnati, where the teams will meet on the final night of the calendar year. It will be the fourth consecutive season in which the Ravens and Bengals play on a Thursday.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow publicly expressed frustration after repeatedly having to travel to Baltimore for prime-time games and asked that Cincinnati be allowed to host one. The NFL granted that request with a game that could become one of the most consequential matchups of the 2026 regular season.

Baltimore will also host Cincinnati earlier in the season, with the Bengals visiting M&T Bank Stadium in Week 7. The New Year’s Eve rematch comes during a challenging closing stretch for the Ravens, which includes games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals before a Week 18 meeting with Pittsburgh.

That schedule could leave the division unsettled entering the final two weeks.

Baltimore will need to handle the atmosphere.

Uniforms and crowd themes do not determine games, but the Ravens will have to prepare for one of the loudest and most emotionally charged environments on their schedule.

The Bengals are promoting the game as a unique moment in franchise history, and the combination of the New Year’s Eve date, prime-time stage, and AFC North stakes should ensure an energized crowd.

Communication will be especially important for Baltimore’s offense. Lamar Jackson, the offensive line, and the Ravens’ skill-position players must handle crowd noise, avoid pre-snap penalties, and maintain composure if Cincinnati generates early momentum.
