When it comes to rivalries, the Cincinnati Bengals have some of the NFL’s best.
There’s always going to be animosity between division rivals, but the Bengals have two of the league’s most heated rivalries with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Anytime the Bengals face one of them, emotions run high, as those matchups typically have playoff implications, and these teams frankly hate each other with a passion.
And we can’t forget about the battle of Ohio with the Cleveland Browns, even if they have struggled to stay relevant compared to Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
But when it comes to the Bengals’ biggest current rival, that may lie outside the division. Ever since Joe Burrow arrived in Cincinnati, the Kansas City Chiefs have arguably been their biggest rival, especially when it comes to competing for championships.
The two clubs met in back-to-back AFC Championship Games from 2021-22 that were instant classics as they split the series. They’ve also had several highly-contested regular-season matchups, including two Bengals wins in 2021 and 2022 that helped them win the AFC North.
In all, the two teams have faced off six times since the 2021 season, as though they actually are division opponents, and they’ll have another late-season matchup this year that could have massive playoff implications.
