My dogs aren't overly energetic, yet they seem to find their inner athlete when I break out the plush toys. Both my senior Dachshund and my Pug mix could be relaxing on the couch about to doze off, yet will immediately stand at full attention when they hear their squeaky toys. It's actually quite impressive.
Apparently, Aylee the Australian Cattle Dog has this skill to switch on "sport mode" and is quite expressive during the quick transition.
In the TikTok from @sam.and.aylee, the canine cutie was just chilling in her backyard with an expression on her face like she was daydreaming. All of a sudden, she jolted to attention with her eyes widening like saucers. Aylee's ears quickly went back, showing she was ready for action. What caused the quick change?
"When your Cattle Dog sees a ball," the on-screen text explained, with the caption adding, "Eyes double their size."
Followers loved Aylee's hilarious response and noted her physical changes as soon as she caught a glimpse of the ball:

These pretty pooches are referred to by many different names including Australian Heelers, Blue Heelers, Queensland Heelers, Queensland Blue Heelers, and Red Heelers.
The "heeler" moniker is due to how these working dogs nip at the heels of cows that they're herding. These canines have been known to playfully nip at human ankles as well, especially when they want something.
Australian Cattle Dogs are born white and get those beautiful markings as they get older. Their coats are usually a mottled blue, black, tan, or rust color. They are considered highly intelligent, rugged, and very obedient.

These canine cuties usually weigh about 48 pounds at adulthood and have a lifespan of 13 to 15 years. One Cattle Dog from Victoria, Australia lived to be 29 years old and earned a Guinness World Record title.
