Angelina Jolie recently drew attention as she opened up about her unconventional parenting approach, where she is preparing her six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, for her death. She said the approach stemmed from losing her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, at the age of 56. However, several social media users are not enamored with the idea and have instead found it rather “cold and morbid.”
In a recent interaction with Variety, Jolie revealed that she is preparing her children for a “life without her” and does not spend time imagining or planning for life as a grandmother.

The Hollywood star said, “I raise my kids, almost preparing them for my absence and not as much preparing to be a grandmother. That’s what happens when you consider death as a reality.”
Many online users were not impressed with her emotional confession and argued that she was projecting her own trauma onto her children through her parenting approach.
One of the social media users said, “She’s an emotionally incestuous wreck. She puts her adult feelings on her children, which is the worst, as it instills fear instead of confidence and independence. When she does go, only then will they realize what they’ve done to their father.”
Another user chimed in, “Other than her mental issues, there is literally nothing wrong with her. She was traumatized by her mom’s passing and is now traumatizing all those kids she collected.”
A social media user questioned whether the Maleficent star was trying to manipulate her children. The comment said, “Why be so morbid? The circle of life includes death, which is a natural part of life. Is she trying to manipulate her kids emotionally?”
Another user wrote, “Enough of the Angelina sob stories. no one feels bad for her intitled self.” A social media user alleged that something is wrong with Angelina Jolie, citing that she repeatedly talks about dying early. The comment read, “She had all her female organs removed. Because she claimed her mother had cancer and she was prone to it. Now she still thinks she is dying early and loads her kids up with this information. There is something truly wrong with this woman.”

While a social media user said, “That’s a very manipulative move and cruel,” another one bashed the Maria actress as a drama queen, adding, “Please spare us! If you die just like other children, you go thru a lot of grief, but you get thru it. What a Drama Queen she is. When was the last time she saw her father?”
Speaking to Morning Honey, New Jersey-based clinical psychologist Dr. Liz Nissim also questioned this parenting approach and said, “So, healthy exposure to some of life’s difficulties and the unpredictability of life- that loss is a part of the human experience- is good. These are good ways to build resilience, but no, I don’t really believe she needs to do this. I think she is putting a lot of her own anxieties on her children and is presenting it in a way that is making it look like she’s preparing them.”
