Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s youngest daughter Vivienne is joining three of her older siblings in legally changing her name. According to court documents reviewed by People, the 18-year-old has filed a petition to drop her dad’s surname “Pitt” from her own moniker.
According to the publication, Vivienne asked that her legal name be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie in documents sent to the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The aspiring actress—who recently celebrated her 18th birthday with twin brother Knox on July 12—wrote that the reason for the request is “personal.” Per People, her court date is set for November 2.
Vivienne’s request comes shortly after Jolie and Pitt’s eldest son Maddox, 24, filed to legally change his name to Maddox Chivan Jolie, quickly followed by his sister Zahara, 21. The former couple’s daughter Shiloh, 20, filed to remove “Pitt” from her last name on her 18th birthday in May 2024.
Jolie and Pitt also share son Pax, 22, and son Knox, 18. According to reports, Knox didn’t include his dad’s surname on his high school diploma when he graduated in Los Angeles on June 5.
Vivienne has followed in her mom’s Hollywood footsteps with an appearance in the 2014 film Maleficent. She also worked alongside Jolie to produce The Outsiders: A New Musical in 2024. At the time, fans noticed that the then-15-year-old was named as “Vivienne Jolie” (not “Vivienne Jolie-Pitt”) in the musical’s playbill, hinting at her plans for an official name change.
Jolie and Pitt, who separated in 2016 after two years of marriage and a decade-long romantic relationship, recently ended their custody agreement after Vivienne and Knox turned 18.
Their divorce, which was finalized in December 2024 after a tumultuous eight-year legal battle, reportedly came after an alleged 2016 incident on a plane with the couple’s children that Jolie’s legal team claims involved physical and emotional abuse.
