He’s been there, and he’s done that, folks. Pitbull just broke the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps with 22,141 baldies — this is what Pitbull calls his fans who wear bald caps. The gathering took place during Pitbull’s headlining set at the BST festival in Hyde Park. “I’m speechless. Who would have thought a first-generation Cuban would be record-breaking and record-making?” he said of his accomplishment. It’s unclear whether this is the first time the record has been officially set, but unofficially, it was probably always held by Pitbull. “We did it, baldies,” Mr. Worldwide cheered as he held the certificate that made him a World Record holder. “I’m speechless at this point, but I can tell you this much. I say it to the baldies all the time in the shows when y’all put on them bald caps, you’re about to have the time of your lives!”
,The plan was simple. A Guinness World rep set the guidelines for what counted as a baldie: you had to be wearing the bald cap for at least a minute, your hair (if you had any) had to be tucked into the cap in the front and sides, and it had to fit securely on your head. Basically, it could not be easily bald-cap snatched. Over 400 volunteers checked to make sure attendees were following the requirements. And now, Mr. Worldwide is a world record holder. His next goal should be a record for the most people yelling the word “Dalé” during a Coachella headlining set.
