She was killed in a car accident in Maryland early in the morning on July 21. Hottle’s father later posted a video on Facebook from the airport captioned, “I am taking a flight I never would like to take.” In ASL, Joshua Hottle explained the circumstances around his daughter’s death and shared his grief.

In the Godzilla vs. Kong movies, Hottle played Jia, the adopted daughter of Rebecca Hall’s Ilene Andrews. The Texas School for the Deaf, where Hottle was a student, posted on Instagram about the gravity of the loss, writing, “Our hearts are with Kaylee’s family, friends, classmates, and everyone who knew and loved her during this incredibly difficult time.”
