There is a long way to go, but Los Angeles Dodgers star Max Muncy has gotten closer to the top of the club’s all-time home run list during Tuesday night’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

The 35-year-old Muncy sent one out of the field with a two-run home run off Phillies ace Zack Wheeler in the fourth inning. Muncy’s homer came on the first pitch he saw in that at-bat against Wheeler, which was an 89 mph cutter.

As for the historical significance of that dinger, Muncy’s home run put him tied at second place for the Dodgers’ all-time career homer list.

“Dodgers 3B Max Muncy hits his 228th career HR as a Los Angeles Dodger, moving into a tie for 2nd place with Ron Cey, trailing only Eric Karros (270),” Bob Nightengale of USA Today shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

That was also Muncy’s second home run since the MLB All-Star break and 19th overall in the 2026 campaign. Only two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani has more home runs for the Dodgers this season than Muncy, who has been wearing Los Angeles colors since 2018.

A three-time All-Star, Muncy has been a picture of consistency in his several years with the Dodgers. Over the last four seasons, he’s never finished with an OPS+ lower than 117.

As for the Dodgers, they are looking to avoid a three-game losing skid after losing in a series finale agianst the New York UYankees on Sunday and dropping the opener versus the Phillies on Monday.
