More than a decade after its theatrical debut, one of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s biggest box office successes is enjoying a fresh wave of popularity. The actor’s $1.4 billion Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron has found a new streaming audience following its arrival on Starz. The film has quickly climbed the platform’s U.S. charts. 

Avengers: Age of Ultron is a hit on Starz

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s $1.4 billion sci-fi blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron has found renewed success. According to FlixPatrol, the Marvel film ranked on the sixth position on Starz’s Top 10 Movies chart in the United States on July 20, 2026. The movie outperformed several other films on the platform. These include The Wedding Ringer, The Intruder, Unstoppable, and Fear.

Directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron was released in theaters on May 1, 2015. The film follows the Avengers after Tony Stark and Bruce Banner create Ultron, an artificial intelligence designed to protect the world. Believing advanced artificial intelligence can eliminate future threats, Stark and Banner develop Ultron, but the program gains its own consciousness and concludes that humanity must be wiped out to save the planet.

As Ultron builds an unstoppable robotic army, the Avengers reunite to stop him while facing powerful new enemies Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) and Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch). The ensemble cast includes Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Pietro Maximoff, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, and Paul Bettany as Vision, among others.

Upon release, the film earned generally favorable reviews. It holds a 75 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 371 reviews. Meanwhile, audiences responded more positively, giving it an 82 percent audience score.

Commercially, Avengers: Age of Ultron became one of the biggest releases of 2015, earning approximately $1.4 billion worldwide. According to Box Office Mojo, its total includes more than $459 million from the domestic box office and nearly $944 million from international markets.
